Catering Services: BTA BTA Catering was founded in 1999 under the partnership of Bilintur, Tepe and Akfen in order to handle the food & beverage operation of the Istanbul Ataturk Airport's International Terminal. Following the opening of the new International Terminal of Istanbul Ataturk Airport on the 10th of January 2000, all food & beverage operations of the terminal, both for the passengers and the terminal personnel, are managed by BTA Catering. BTA operates; with its dedicated team of 1250 employees, 70% of whom have either college or bachelor degree. Employees are trained in tourism and hospitality management as well as in food & beverage services, and are chosen on their professional competency and proficiency to provide world standard food & beverage services at Turkey's gateway to the world. BTA Catering, conscious of the importance of hygiene and customer service, has continuously developed its standards since it was founded. Human health and customer satisfaction monitoring are carried out in BTA under the supervision of the Food Engineers as well as its trained staff. BTA Catering uses “Cook & Chill" technology that allows cooling meals down to microbiologically safe temperatures quickly, and to heat it when it is needed without disturbing its original taste and quality. Having been certified by ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2001, BTA Catering has also proved its 100% food safety and perfect food production dedication by its certification of ISO 22000:2005 (food safety management system). The ISO 22000:2005 standard, which has been obtained by only a handful of organisations in the sector, is based on a procedure to eliminate potential hazards by identifying possible hazards at all stages from production to consumption. BTA's main aim is to become a brand that is identified with Turkish hospitality and high quality food & beverage services with major emphasis on ultimate customer satisfaction and to extend its experience into other terminals.
